We are a company that cares for its employees, partners, and clients. We also focus strongly on sustainable development remembering our responsibility for the environment, immediate surroundings, and local communities we are a part of.

We are constantly trying to be an even better neighbour building long-term relationships, and we also communicate transparently about our performance. Pursuing this goal, we became the first commercial developer in CEE to publish a comprehensive ESG report. We want to promote ecological standards and encourage other real estate companies to be involved in sustainable development of cities and our planet.

The impact of our company on the sustainable cities’ development is manifested at all stages of our business activities – from choosing the location for new investments, through design and construction, to the management of a completed building.

Environmental

  • 92% of our portfolio holds green certificates (mainly LEED and BREEAM), including 100% of developments in Poland, Serbia, Romania and Bulgaria. We are seeking certification for the remaining part of our portfolio.
  • All GTC’s properties in Poland, Romania, Hungary, and Croatia, as well as the Advance Business Center office complex in Bulgaria, purchase green energy.
  • We implement more solutions to increase the energy efficiency of buildings and further reduce water consumption.
  • We revitalise degraded and post-industrial areas.

Social

  • We are committed to supporting local communities, education and culture activities by working with over a hundred organisations including NGOs, schools and universities.
  • We promote local entrepreneurs and regional products (e.g., by organising fairs and markets).
  • We make sure that our commercial and office projects are accessible to everyone, including to elderly people and those with disabilities.
  • We undertake a lot of initiatives to support the development of the local communities.

Corporate governance

  • We implement our diversity and inclusion policy by employing an array of employees in terms of gender, age, education, and cultural background.
  • In particular markets, we have implemented a number of internal regulations devoted to, among others, counteracting corruption, protection of confidential information, counteracting discrimination and mobbing.

OUR ESG AWARDS

GTC successfully debuted in the EPRA Sustainability Best Practices Recommendations (sBPR) award, and achieved silver-level compliance, achieving high (between 70% and 85%) adherence to the sBPR score.

Green bonds

In 2020 we adopted the “Green Bonds Framework” which defines the guidelines for issuing green bonds by the companies of our Group. We want to use the funds raised from the issuance of green bonds to finance/refinance projects that promote energy efficiency and the use of alternative energy sources.

Under the guidelines, we issued 10-year green bonds worth:

  • EUR 110 million in December 2020,
  • EUR 54 million in March 2021 and
  • EUR 500 million June 2021.
