GTC summarizes its performance in Poland in 2024. The company achieved record-breaking results in the commercial sector, leasing 93 000 sq. m, marking the best performance of the last decade. GTC's shopping centers also reported equally impressive operational results – tenant-generated turnover increased by 13% year-on-year, while the number of visitors exceeded 13 million.
Record-Breaking Office Leases and Millions of Customers in Shopping Centers
The year 2024 proved to be a breakthrough for the GTC Group, which achieved its best leasing performance in office and retail spaces in the past 10 years. The company leased over 62 000 sq. m of office space in Poland. New lease agreements and expansions accounted for more than 50% of the total leased office space. The largest share was recorded in Kraków and Łódź. Particularly impressive results were achieved in Łódź, where leases signed by GTC represented nearly 30% of all transactions on the local office market. Among the tenants who extended their leases were companies such as IBM at the Korona Office Complex in Kraków, while new tenants included Polkomtel at Sterlinga Business Center, a global leader in ICT solutions at University Business Park in Łódź, a technology company in the Pixel office space in Poznań, and the Małopolska Centre for Entrepreneurship at the Korona Office Complex.
In the retail space segment, the GTC Group achieved equally significant results. In 2024, GTC's shopping centers in Poland attracted a record-breaking number of over 13 million visitors. Galeria Północna welcomed nearly 7.5 million customers, while Galeria Jurajska – celebrating its 15th anniversary – about 5.6 million. This success translated into strong performance for tenants, who recorded an impressive 13% year-on-year increase in turnover. Additionally, lease agreements covering a total of nearly 30 700 sq. m were signed at Galeria Północna and Galeria Jurajska. New contracts and expansions covered over 2 100 sq. m, while extensions of existing agreements accounted for as much as 28 500 sq. m. Among the lease extensions at Galeria Jurajska in Częstochowa were tenants such as LPP Group, Cinema City, H&M, and RTV Euro AGD. Meanwhile, at Galeria Północna in Warsaw, new tenants included the Tchibo brand, while H&M, Zdrofit, New Yorker, and RTV Euro AGD extended their leases.
"2024 was an exceptionally successful year for GTC on the Polish market, delivering record-breaking results. We achieved the highest leasing levels in a decade, and additionally, our shopping centers recorded significant growth in both visitor numbers and tenant turnover. These achievements are primarily the result of the hard work and dedication of our entire team, for which I am immensely grateful. Their commitment, determination, and professionalism have been invaluable. Both in terms of leasing and operations, 2024 was an extraordinarily fruitful year for us" – summarizes Agnieszka Ciupak, Managing Director of GTC in Poland.
Places That Thrive and Inspire
Such outstanding results are the outcome of GTC Group's well-thought-out strategy, which includes a flexible approach to tenant needs, effective management, and numerous additional initiatives. GTC offices served not only as business spaces but also as hubs for integrating and engaging tenants' employees through various events, such as creative workshops, outdoor activities, and ecological or charitable initiatives. These efforts fostered personal development and encouraged physical activity among space users.
Galeria Północna attracted customers with its rich selection of international brands and organized over 80 events, focusing on local, cultural, and ecological initiatives. By continuously enhancing its offerings and introducing new retail concepts, the shopping center has strengthened its position as one of the most popular destinations in the region.
Equally significant for local residents was Galeria Jurajska, which hosted 65 diverse events, including fairs, markets, ecological campaigns, and social initiatives such as electronic waste collection drives and regular mammography screenings. The TV JuRAJSKA project received particular recognition, earning a silver PRCH Retail Award for its social media activities.
