• H&M signs for Avenue Mall Zagreb
• Avenue Mall Zagreb, opened in 2007, strengthens its tenant mix even further
In pursuit of the strategy to strengthen the tenant mix of the Avenue Mall Zagreb, GTC, the co-owner and manager of the mall, has signed a lease contract with H&M for 1,840 sq m of retail space located on two levels of the mall. The shop will open its doors in spring 2012, replacing the existing kid’s and sports store.
H&M is rapidly entering the Croatian market and has identified Avenue Mall Zagreb as an important location to open its store. With 1,840 sq m , H&M store in Avenue Mall Zagreb will be one of the biggest in the country.
Over last couple of months Avenue Mall Zagreb has seen a 20% increase in the foot fall, compared to last year figure, despite the fact that new malls opened during 2009 and 2010. This is a result of marketing efforts and long-term strategy in positioning the mall as a place for all generations. Weekly foot fall reached more than 160,000 people.
Besides adding H&M, a world’s fashion leader, ,Avenue Mall is facing further changes. One2Play, a large kid’s store and playground, is moving to a larger area on the second floor, in order to continue offering top quality toys and safe entertainment for youngsters while their parents are enjoying worry free shopping. Also Elipso store has recently opened its doors on the second level and thus enhanced the tenant mix with electronics merchandise that so far was not present in the mall.
“H&M signing for Avenue Mall Zagreb is another breakthrough for an already top performing project,” said Sinisa Slijepcevic, GTC’s Country Manager for Croatia. “This is a proof that Avenue Malls continues to be the leader on the market and is recognized by top performing international and local brands. With H&M as the top fashion anchor, we believe we are securing further success of our project. And this is not the end… we continue to negotiate with other interesting tenants, always having in mind the needs and comfort of our customers and raising the value of our mall.’
