In 2010, the Japanese consumer electronics giant Canon acquired the Netherlands-based company Océ which develops, manufactures and sells printing and copying hardware and related software. As part of the worldwide integration program, now also the Czech headquarters of both Canon in Prague 6 and former Océ in Prague 4 was merged and will be consolidated into a single new location.
After an intense search and selection process, Canon decided to choose Prague Marina Office Center. Mr. Palecek, managing director at Canon comments: “Among other factors, the main reasons why we have chosen Prague Marina Office Center as the location of our new consolidated Czech headquarters were the efficient office space configuration on one floor in combination with the availability of ground floor retail space for our large showroom, sufficient car parking spaces, the almost immediate availability of the space, the turn-key solution and finally the attractive terms and conditions and flexible, pro-active approach offered by the Lighthouse Group.”
Tamir Winterstein, CEO of the Lighthouse Group comments: “We are pleased that Canon has chosen Prague Marina Office Center as the seat for its new headquarters in the Czech Republic. We believe that the decision of such a large, well-known brand as Canon will further enhance the continuous ongoing positive development of this newest and most recently regenerated part of Holešovice into a bustling, modern, dynamic waterfront location with a unique character in Prague. We are encouraged that despite the floods, which did not affect Prague Marina Office Center at all, Canon continued to be firm in their decision and believe in the location of Prague 7 – Holešovice and our development Prague Marina Office Center as such.”
CBRE advised the Lighthouse Group on the transaction and Canon was advised by Re-Creations.
