Initiatives implemented at GTC-managed shopping centres have been featured in the latest edition of the report “Responsible Business in Poland 2025. Good Practices”, presented by the Responsible Business Forum during the ESG Ideas Fair held in Warsaw. The publication is the largest review of corporate sustainability and social responsibility initiatives in Poland.

This year’s edition includes a number of initiatives carried out at GTC’s retail properties. At Galeria Północna in Warsaw, these included free preventive health screenings organised in cooperation with the Flower of Femininity Foundation, yoga and tai chi classes, and blood donation drives. At Galeria Jurajska in Częstochowa, the report highlighted free medical examinations and Safe Space, a psychological support concept dedicated to children and young people.

“Responsibility is an integral part of GTC’s strategy and the way we conduct our business. We believe that shopping centres can play a much broader role than simply serving as retail destinations, which is why we consistently develop initiatives that respond to the needs of local communities and strengthen the social role of our properties. We are pleased that the practices implemented at Galeria Północna and Galeria Jurajska have been included in a report showcasing the best examples of responsible business in Poland. This recognition confirms that our activities deliver real value to the residents of the cities in which we operate,” said Danny Bercovich, Regional Director of Retail at GTC.

The 2025 edition of the report showcases how companies operating in Poland are responding to environmental, social and economic transformation challenges. It presents 932 good practices implemented by 263 companies, documenting both strategic ESG activities and a broad range of social, environmental and employee-focused initiatives.

The publication reflects the current priorities shaping responsible business in Poland. Particular attention is given to sustainability reporting, implementation of ESRS standards, climate transition, circular economy solutions, employee wellbeing, diversity and social engagement. The report demonstrates that companies increasingly view sustainability as an integral element of their business strategies and long-term competitiveness.

Structured in line with the ESRS framework, the report covers initiatives across environmental (E), social (S) and governance (G) areas. In addition to presenting company case studies, it also includes expert commentaries and articles exploring the key trends and challenges that shaped the sustainability agenda in 2025.

“We would like to thank all organisations that chose to share information about their initiatives. Exchanging good market practices and inspiring one another plays an important role in building a culture of cooperation that supports sustainable transformation,” said Irena Pichola, President of the Responsible Business Forum and Chair of the Steering Committee of Chapter Zero Poland.

“More than twenty editions of the report and several hundred new practices included this year demonstrate how deeply social and environmental responsibility has become embedded in business operations. The scale and diversity of these initiatives are impressive. We can also observe companies continuously responding to the evolving needs and expectations of their stakeholders. In the 24th edition of the report, the initiatives submitted by companies focus primarily on climate-related issues, circular economy solutions and employee wellbeing. A significant share also concerns social engagement. Building relationships with diverse stakeholder groups and working to reduce environmental impact provide tangible evidence that responsibility remains a core value for businesses,” added Agata Rudnicka, Knowledge Management Director at the Responsible Business Forum.

For more than two decades, the “Responsible Business in Poland” report has documented the evolution of responsible business practices in the country, remaining one of the most important sources of knowledge on corporate sustainability initiatives. The latest edition confirms that responsibility, innovation and collaboration are becoming increasingly important drivers of a resilient and competitive economy.
